I don’t do heights. Heights freak me out. But this view from atop Mount Fløyen was SO worth me facing that fear. Overlooking the beautiful Norwegian city of Bergen while the snow began to fall was what dreams were made of. Bergen is without a doubt one of my absolute favorite cities.

One of the main things I miss about living abroad

One of the main things I miss about living abroad is walking. Walking everywhere. Now that I’m back in the US, I don’t walk anymore. Everything is so far away and it’s easier (and most times safer) to just drive.

When I was living in Korea, I was averaging close to 10,000 steps a day. Walking to work, walking (running around) at work chasing after the small children that I was teaching, taking circuitous routes home just for fun and to get some extra steps in. I ate everything I wanted because I knew I was going to walk it all off.

Got to breathe in all the fresh air around me, see the leaves changing color in the fall and the cherry blossoms blooming in the spring. I really miss it!

Every single place I visit, I feel an insatiable desire to move there. Liechtenstein is no exception! My bus ride from Switzerland to Austria took me right through the 6th smallest nation in the world, Liechtenstein. I wish I could’ve stayed and explore longer.

While there, I got to walk around Vaduz a bit, get a commemorative passport stamp, and breathe in some of the freshest air I’ve ever breathed in my entire life!

It’s been 10 years since I’ve traveled to India and I can’t wait to go back again! The Taj Mahal is without a doubt, one of the most stunning pieces of architecture in the world. It literally took my breath away when I saw it. From the symmetry of the Taj Mahal to the gemstones in the walls that sparkle when the sunlight hits it, everything about it is beautiful.

In the middle of the hustle and bustle of larger cities, I always enjoy capturing moments of quiet and calm. While traveling through Fez, Morocco’s oldest city, there was so much to see and take in—the sights, the sounds. Definitely a lot more different than what I grew up accustomed to seeing in my hometown!
